Finally going back home to Uvalde, TX for a couple of weeks. Gonna trailer the bike downand do some riding through the hill country. Havent done that since the early 70's on the ol Honda CB100.. Should be a blast, I can't wait..
If you see a guy on a Montana plated Ultra with a big $hit eatin grin on his face,, thats me!
Welcome home. If you plan on riding through the Leakey area you'll find you can actually stop and have a beer at The Motorcycle Stop on 337. Uvalde has grown a lot in just the past 3 years. I have a place off 334 just west of the west Nueces River and plan on going in about a week or so to do some work.
Everything should be nice and green since there has been quite a bit of rain recently. Looks like the weather is going to be Ok for the next couple of weeks. Have a great trip and be safe!
By the way, if you happen down I-20 through Midland, give me a holler, I'll buy you a plate of Tex Mex.
Thanks guys, I am really looking forward to getting back for a couple weeks.. And the Tex Mex sounds good, not too much of that up here in Montana.. If I pass through that area I'll definitely holler at ya..
bdgreen, it's been awhile but I know we used to ride from Uvalde up to Camp wood, and over to Leakey then back down to Uvalde. I will have to check out the motorcycle stop.
It's only been there a couple years. It started on the corner of 83 and 337. They moved to a new location a little further out 337 going toward Campwood. That place and the whole area have really become popular for bikers, so don't be surprised if it looks like they're having a rally.

Yep already been and back home.. I stopped at the motorcycle stop on 337 and grabbed something to drink and a t-shirt. I went over toward Luckenbach and had a beer, havent been there in ages.. It was great.
Not too much. There were a few good days of weather and those were the days we rode on. The rest of the time the bike sat in the trailer. Got to float the Frio too.. Havent done that in years..
