Just a heads up...Wimberley Days Market is on the first weekend of every month. I've heard it's near impossible to find a place to stay in Wimberley then. I'd recommend a walk through the Emily Ann Theater, which is an amphitheater built from a vision and a lot of volunteers. The newest addition is a Veterans Memorial on the top of the hill. Go to the website for more information. www.emilyann.org
Favorite place to stay is The Lodge at Creekside B&B www.acountryinn.com/
We are going back to that area the first weekend in Oct. The D'rose Inn in Leaky is a great place to stay. You have to be riding or trailering a bike to stay there. The owner is a really nice lady and she will bend over backwards to make your stay a nice one
There are some cabins (they sleep up to 8 people) right on the Blanco river at a place called 7A Ranch, its very resonably priced, but kind of family oriented. We stay there every summer, it is located in Wimberly maybe a mile from the market.
seeya!
We stayed in Fredricksburg the week of Sept 28 - Oct 1st and had a great time. We also trailered our bikes (Sportster and Heritage) because we brought our dog along. We stayed at the Hog Stop Inn on 290 (www.thehogstopinn.com). They have cabins in a wooded setting that we really enjoyed staying in. The owner Mike was very great and helpfully giving advise on great rides. Pleanty of awesome roads to ride, the girlfriend has not been riding long and after her first set of twisties we stopped and I asked if she was ok. With a big grin on her face she said she s__t her pants! but loved every minuet of it.During the week she built up the curage to ride theTwisted Sisters.
You guys will have a great time no matter where you stay. Enjoy yourself.
Stary nights in Winberly its a great ride from there to Fred town.
It also makes and easy trip to devils backbone and shade tree off 281.
Plus it is a close ride to the divide off 165 http://starrynight.homestead.com/
Lou and Dwanna are a great hosts.
We're leaving Thurs night for Leakey. We're staying at the River Haven Cabins. The weather should be great.Low 50's highs mid 80's just right.Love to ride those sisters. The roads are not bad either.lol
Avoid d'rose cabins in leakey,tx if you are not 100% positive that you will be there..the cancellation policy sucks !!!!!!!!!!! Make your resevation with extreame caution......
