Good afternoon. The wife and I are thinking about riding the Texas Hill Country out around the Fredericksburg, Texasarea. We are trailering (due to my old back) our 06 Heritage Classic for a week of riding the Hills. Plan on the last week in Octomber. Any suggestions on a nice place to stay (B&B, hotel, ect.) in that general area. Our first time to this part of Texas and thought we might get some suggestions from you kind folks. Thanks for your help. Take care and be careful. Dixiebob.
For a real treat, try the Blaire House in Wimberley, TX - it is pricy but if you want an evening or two in private, extremely well done, on site chef, massage, hot tub, swimming pool and a white cloth most excellent breakfast - it is quite romantic. You can check them on line at: http://www.blairhouseinn.com/- also the ride north to Blanco is a great road and scenery. As you have a full week, I'd make the trip to wimberley and enjoy the shops, locals and this awesome b&b if your time permits. Make reservations now as they do fill up. The romance package is great - roses, champagne, cheese/crackers/fruit and bubble bath for the double tub will not disappoint. White and red wine caraff nightly in your refrigerator.
Also be sure to do the Willow Loop - 13 miles north of Fredericksburg and some of the most prestine ranch land left in Tejas.
Hope you have a great trip - keep the shiny side up!
Almost forgot - the three sisters is a great ride just north west of San Antonio - the town is Lakey, Texas and a great ride on some twisty Texas hills. Great country to ride in.
We're going the week before you and we're staying in the Leakey area sence thats kinda the hub for the best roads. Here's a few places to stay.D'Rose Inn & Cabins--- Camp Live Oak Cabins--- River Haven Cabins. These all have web sites.Make your Res. soon, they fill up pretty quick.Good luck and ride safe.Watch for deer in the AM and late PM.
The River Haven Cabins near Leakey are right on the Frio River and very low cost that time of year and are great as someone else mentioned if you want to ride the twisted sisters.

just got in this afternoon from a weekend in Utopia and riding them sisters. we stayed here http://www.utopiaontheriver.com/ nice place, but there's no shortage of places to stay out that way.
We'll be down that way sometime between the middle and late October, just depending on our schedule and the weather. All the places mentioned are great.
Fredricksburg is a nice place to visit and knock aroundtown but it's a little pricey to stay. Hotels generally run at over $100 a night. Kinda cheesy if you ask me.

Pat,be sure and let me know what the dates are so we can get together.
Will do, Craig. We are thinking about staying in Kerrville then riding from there on Saturday. Looks like it will be probably either the weekend of the 13th or the 20th. We'd love for you all to be our tour guide on Saturday. I think you know the country better than anyone. See ya, Pat
