I am in the process of forming a new chapter of a nationally recognized club here in Tulsa and am looking for people who may be interested in joining. I have had verbal conversations with the club but it is still very early in the planning stages. Before the club will give me their blessing I need to go before the confederation of clubs to get their permission. Once I get permission if they grant it I will meet personally with the club. So far things are looking very good.
The club is a "good guys" club not a 1% and has been around for a long time is all I can say at this time. If you are interested please PM me.
Dert, it is a nationally recognized club not a group. They do have 3 piece patch and MC is part of it. I am going before the coc in May to get their approval to start a chapter.
Gotcha ...Misunderstood you.We just recently started up a VFW MC Group and the COC in Austin gave the OK as long as "Texas" was not below(rocker) Didnt ask any questions as we are not a 'Club"
Good luck with the club formation. Three patch clubs are touchy areas in parts of Texas. Knew of a few guys who were riding through Galveston and were asked to remove their colors. They took them off and stashed them into their saddlebags so there was no trouble. All this 2 patch, 3 patch stuff is new to me. One of the guys I ride with is from California and he said it is the same out there.
It is dead in the water, I spoke to the COC. They said they would not allow the "club" in Oklahoma. So I am not pursuing it any longer. I will ride free!!!!
The first time I heard you had to ask permission to start a club it floored me. I thought what the H*ll? Then I heard Willie Davidson had to get the blessing from the powers that be, to start HOG. Strange lifestyle we're into. Certain bars in Austin request you remove your colors before you enter...I avoid those places all together. That sign tells me it could become dangerous. Sorry to hear you were denied.
It was probably a blessing in disguise. I may still start something in the future as an "Association" or "Group" but not a club. I just want a good group of people who enjoy riding, having a good time, and helping out the community.

COC is Confederation of Clubs. They are the "Governing" body from different clubs in your state. They are elected by members of the clubs and hold "office" for a few years. Before anyone does anything club related they need to go before them to get permission. If you do not thisngs can get a little touchy and if you have colors they will forcibly remove them from you.
