Default Insurance? V-rod? Sporty?

I got the 883cc because im young and have a bad record. Being not yet 25 i checked into a 88 motor for me and it was 425 a month. Yes,a month. I currently pay 300 for my sporty. Well does anyone know if it goes by cubic inch size or what? If thats the case maybe a v-rod would be cheaper being only 1130cc's? Just curious if anyone out there knows. Thanks.

It really depends on the insurance company and how they calculate the rate. The best to do would be to get a quote on a V-rod from the insurance company.

My rate (I'm old) for my Dyna was double for my Dyna vs a 1200 Sporty.
My son who is also under 25, pays about 680/yr for his 883 sporty, but he (so far) has a clean driving record. He wants, but can't afford a V-Rod, both from a cost and insurance perspective.
I'm betting the V-Rod could double up your current rates, ouch.

You could get a discount for a Rider Safety class if you have not taken one yet. Keeping the LEOs off your tale and time will lower your rate. Shop around, you may be able to get some savings that way.

I pay $201 per year on my sportster. I got a quote for insurance for a street glide it was $495 per year. The insurance company said the CCs is higher and the bike is much more expensive to replace. I would guess a Vrod would be even more then a big twin.

What insurance company did you go through? I'm paying 490/year through Geico on my Sportster.

680 a year for my 883 Custom at 20 years old.

No desire for anything bigger at the moment.

I think you need to shop around for a better deal. I pay $475 a year with progressive for my 883, but Im 26, not the best driving record, never in an accident but I got a DUI just under 4 years ago.
