Default POS battery

It's a little cool here in Southeast Texas, but not near freezing.
Took the metric for a quick 50 mile ride Saturday, then wanted to ride the Sporty before the cold rain.

Hit the starter, and it barely turned the motor over before it gave up the ghost.
Charged it up, then went for a nice ride later that day. Hooked up the battery tender after the ride, and all indications were good.
Disconnected the battery tender today, hit the starter and no go. Fricking POS battery. The bike is only 5 months old. Battery is reading 12.67 volts before cranking. Guessing its a bad cell. Calling the tow truck to get it to the dealer.
Hope they cover it under warranty.
The metric 1600 V twin battery lasted 5 years before I replaced it to be on the safe side.

Why tow the whole bike? Can't you take the battery to the dealer, have them test it, and give you a new one? Removing the battery can't be that difficult. Have you checked you battery connections for corrosion, or looseness? Especially the engine mount ground post.

Checked and cleaned all connections Saturday.
The dealer won't warranty it unless the battery is in the bike. Thankfully I have AAA plus which includes 8 service calls or tows up to 100 miles per year.
The AAA plus is also great for getting tipsy friends home safe.

You got to love dealers, giving you a list of things they won't do. Especially if you bought the bike from them.

So, you take the battery in, they replace it, you put in the bike, it's starts one or two times, then after a couple day it's takes a ****.
They want to check to see if anything is wrong with the charging system etc.
Can you take in a battery out of a new car to the dealership & have them just give you a new one? Ain't going to happen. The dealership
is doing it correctly. Give them a freakin break.

+1 - They need to check the charging system to ensure it didn't cause the battery failure.

The replay was NOT about you. It was about what 'Hexnut' posted.

The system is charging fine. That's why I suspect a bad cell.
I turn wrenches for a living, and I'm replacing a Boeing 757 fuel boost pump today. Yippay......get to go home smelling like kerosene
