I am looking for a rigid frame and a Springer front end to swap over all the stuff off my 05 1200c. The only problem is everything I can find is for models up to 2003 does any one know what the differences are? [:@]
The only one so far that I know of doing true rubbermount rigid frames (where the motor is still rubbermounted) is http://www.carolinacustomproducts.com/sportster.htmland they cost a fortune. There are a number of mfr. that do rigid frame and rigid motor mount for 04 and up sportys like Atlas and redneck engineering. A better choice and one that I'm considering when mine is paid off is getting http://www.ledsledcustoms.com/index2.aspto rework my stock frame to a rigid and rigid mount the motor as well. Having frame work done and adding a springer would be far cheaper than buying a frame or roller and you don't have the hassles of registering it.
The rubbermount is the main part but even those wanting to rigid mount an 04 up enginethe frame still has to be made specifically for its mount holes when the rubber isolators are eliminated since they're different from previous years. I believe Atlas has the rigid mount made for rubbermounts. If you go over on www.clubchopper.com under the Buell/Sportster page there is a list on frame suppliers and various comments.
Heres the actual link to the sportster page on CC that has the list (it's posted at the top) www.clubchopper.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28996.
There are a number of them now that have rigid mount 04 up frames available and even some softail style.
