Was at a factory demo ride this past weekend.Talked to the reps and I told them I wanted to put SE slip ons on my 2004 1200 Custom for a little better sound. They said I would probably bedisappointed with the results. They said the 2007 pipeshas about the same sound as the SE slip ons. So now I am thinking I might put on the Vance & Hines slip ons and the quiet baffles.I will probably go with the SE AC.Any opinions out there.
PS I know this has been a long discussed subject and opinions but what the hell lets hear some more, thanks.
The 07 factory pipe does have a pretty good snap to it compared to previous modelshowever it's not quite enough IMHO, I think I am going to have to go a little louder.
I have Cycle Shack slip ons. They are the company that, at least used to, make the Screamin Eagle mufflers. That with the S/E air cleaner. I like the set up, especially forthe $$$ You can get the Cycle Shacks for $120 including freight.
But I've seen and heard plenty of other set ups that were equally as nice. Just more pricey.
I have screaming eagle mufflers on mine very loud, a lot louder then any 07 thats for sure.I think you can get them for a good price to right now too . sweet
I have some V&H pipes, not slip-ons, of some sort on my previous bike, and they were so loud that it would take a little while for the hearing in my right ear to come back. I never want pipes that loud again. Those pipes actually drowned out all wind noise to a faint whisper. This time I am looking at the SE1 pipes. How do the SE1s compare performance-wise?
My dealer told me today that the 07 screamin eagle slip-on's are about 5db louder than stock. They also said the I could use any slip on I wanted and not void my warranty. He recomended V&H. I know I love the way my train barks with them. Hope they sound as good on the wife sporty.
