I have posted a few questions on here and have read a bunchmore others have asked… there sure does seem to be a bunch that really don’tcontribute to the question, just say how it’s a bad idea, can’t be done, or buya new bike… I’m just saying as a new guy, that isn’t helpful at all…
I know what you are saying and I get that sometimes also. But in the big picture this is a very helpful site. It's much better than some of the other forums I visit.
Its just the nature of the beast when dealing with internet forums.
When you ask an opinion you should be ready to hear it, rather than expect what you want to hear. If you dont agree you can challenge it with your own reasoning.
Whether they say yay or nay, at the end you are the one who decides what's best for you.
Like mentioned, this forum is a lot better than most other ones. Once you sift through the BS responses, there are some really knowledgable and helpful guys on here.
the forum is just like google, you ask a question (do a search) and you'll get a million answers (results). then you have to pick through everything to find out what you like.
forums are a place where people share their opinions, and everyone has their own unique opinion. furthermore, when people "say how it’s a bad idea, can’t be done, or buya new bike" they are contributing to the question, they're sharing what they think is the best idea for the situation.
you can't be mad at people for having an opinion thats different than yours.
for me personally, i know there will be good and bad answers. but i spend my time appreciating the good answers rather than being frustrated all the answers aren't perfect. I've found a ton of info on these forums that i could not find anywhere else
Good points all, and I see what you mean. I wasn't meaning to complain, and you're right if that's their opinion then it is what it is... I guess I was just seeing it wrong, taking them a negitive coments... but I see the light lol.. thanks guys
i can understand the frustration you may be feeling when you ask a question. i know i would feel insulted if i ask for help building my dream bike and somebody tells me "buy a bigger bike". but you need to look at it from an objective perspective rather than subjective, they aren't saying "your bike is junk get a new one" there saying "if i was you i would buy a bigger bike". they don't know how much work you have put into your bike or why you chose that particular bike.
i try not to take things personally and remember people are just sharing their opinions

Many nays are contradicting yays made by other contributors! Some pretty inaccurate stuff gets peddled as fact and needs to be challenged, so some nays are actually making a positive contribution!
