My 883 had minis on forwards when I got it, didn't work for me. Left foot is slightly limited in motion from an old injury, makes shifting on forwards a bit difficult anyway, but worse with the boards, and highway speeds would lift my feet if I relaxed, even with different angles on the boards. You'd think that would be more likely with pegs, but putting pegs on cured that problem. I moved them to the passenger position, good there. Never heard anyone else mention the lifting problem, might have been unique to those boards, don't know what brand they are. They mount just like Harley pegs, but stick out farther than standard pegs - that might have contributed to the lifting problem, legs were farther apart of course, caught a bit more wind.
One thing I never did, and would suggest you never do, is try to stand on mini boards for taking a bump or riding over a curb; you're putting more pressure on those forward mounts than mid pegs, and I'd be concerned with breaking off single point mounted pegs or boards, have heard of it happening. Although you may not be lugging around my 230 lbs before gear...
Before I took them off the front, don't have any closeups.
