Electrical issue. Help
check your battery again
a tender will not charge the battery fully
hence "tender" it just keeps it fresh

That's where I would begin. take each battery cable connection apart (both ends), sand with 220 grit. make em shine. Torque back up. Re seat regulator to ground. i don't use goop, because this is an annual maintenance thing for me and keeps it less messy. If your lucky, you are cured. If your not so lucky, you can glow in your assuredness of having positively eliminated these sources of problems.
Startup "KLUNK!" got real quieter for me after doing this. My connections "looked" clean and felt tight too.
