Default Stripped primary case

Okay guys here's a good one for you..Im in the process of swapping out both cam and primary cover. Started on the cam side, snapped a bolt and decided to move to the primary side. Much simpler until I got to the last bolt, was torquing it down to 7 pounds after working up from 3 pounds, and I heard a loud pop. Thought I snapped the bolt, but nope. Pulled the cover back off and it stripped the inside of the actual primary case somehow. So now what in the hell do I do? The bolt will go in and torque down to maybe 2 pounds before it just spins. So now I have no idea what to do. Could I get a bolt that's like maybe 3/16 longer to thread through?

Get a new good torque wrench quick. It should have been okay to about 120 inch pounds (not foot pounds).

The wrench is fine, it's the actually primary case that stripped out.

Helicoil, Time Sert (?) or any other decent thread repair technology.

He's saying that may have been caused by a miscalibrated torque wrench.

Timesert would be the way to go. A longer bolt will just punch through the case if you try to torque it down, which will give you a much bigger and more expensive headache.
