Default Holeshot???

Noob question.
Is there a technique at getting a better holeshot??? I have tried cranking the throttle more with normal clutch and have tried letting the clutch out faster, both times the bike seems to lag. I am not looking to get up to 60mph in 2 seconds but if I ever had to get out of the way quickly I would like to know how.

It's all about timing and coordination. Only time I do it is when I have a seriously worn rear tire. My technique is to rev the bike several times and on the 3rd rev, pop the clutch (let it out all at once) and give her the gas. This results in the worn tire spinning and smoking. I would not do it with a new tire cause they are expen$ive. Only danger is bike going sideways or causing me to drop it. Have avoided that fate so far.....

If you're still running the stock clutch pack with a spring plate, it's time to replace it.

And if you want to pull that front end off the ground, get rolling about 10mph in first, rev up to about 4k rpms, lean back and drop that clutch. Dropping that clutch from a dead stop when revving to 4k will give you a good burnout, and from a 10mph roll, a good wheelie!

If you didn't get the idea yet, hole-shots are not so great on sporties.
The sporties torque just spin's the rear wheel.
I'd suggest replacing the clutch-pack to an energy-1 and getting use to the way the new clutch acts, then try your hole-shot again.
It should be better.

Cheers.
