My 2015 Sportster Iron has a faulty side stand switch.
When driving real slow or sitting at a stop in gear with clutch pulled, it simply turns off the machine and indicates in the display that the side stand is down. When I put side stand a bit down and up again, the machine will restart.
The dealer mechanic changed the sensor but it didn't fix the problem.
Mechanic mentioned that he has two sporststers with that same problem
Your bike is new...the dealer should fix the problem. How do you know the switch is faulty....you know its not the sensor. Could it be the kickstand itself...perhaps defective. Just thoughts......take it back to the dealer.

I was at the dealer yesterday. He changed the sensor and the problem is still there. That's why I'm asking for solutions or suggestions here.
Noted...I would just take it back to the dealer and have them figure it out especially since they did not resolve the problem. Good luck.
Agree. I will take it back. But if I take it back tomorrow then I don't have a bike for a while until they figure it out. I was hoping someone here could come up with a solution or a suggestion for how to solve the issue.
It's a brand new bike, not a lot of forum members have them. Plus, they changed the wiring system in 2014, so even fewer have knowledge of the CANbus wiring. Under warranty makes dealer your best bet.

If you got the extended service plan when you purchased the bike, they will give you a rental while your ride is there being repaired.
Here's a temporary fix if someone else in the same position as me reads this - having to wait for your dealer to come up with a solution and real annoyed by this.
That's great that you found a temporary fix. It would also be annoying to have things not working as it should on a new bike. Be careful not to take off with your kickstand down. Ride safe!
