well since you got them free thats a different story but that kit costs like 300 bucks and you could just mount the forward pegs for ALOT less and have the stretched out feefect or the highway and the mids for the twisties I had an 883C and now have a XL50 andfeel alot more in control of the bike withmids just my 2 cents
My 883 was a 92 "Hugger" model and I couldn't stand the mids... it seemed like they were constantly in the way when I went to put my feet down. I'm six-foot and fifty years old, so I also had hip issues with the mid peg riding position.
Since a 1200c was what I really wanted anyway, I upgraded when some money came my way! Love the forwards and would not go back!
Hi, I'm thinking of going for a roadster for the brakes and handling but i want to know what its like with forward controls and standard bars. Could someone whos done it post a pic of them on the bike so i can see riding position. Im 29 and get muscle cramp in my hip on sports bikes. So its either the roadster, the 48 ( drag bars and maybe raise the rear) or 72 (apparently handles like poo)
just FYI, this is a 10 year old thread pertaining to the earlier roadster and not the current model. I have a new roadster with xr1200 bars (about 3 inches taller than stock) and have no issues with the foot position.
check out the new roadster roll call thread here in the sportster sub.

The 72 got discontinued for this year, unless you want to look for a leftover 2016.
Actually it is the Drag Specialties Predator EXTENDED reach seat but anyway I have one on my Roadster and it made it fit me at 6'1", 34" inseam, moves the rider up a few inches and back a few too.
