Default Seriously something wrong with me!!

So I decided to Bob out my rear fender on my 72 yesterday. I literally have no experience with mechanical work however I figured you have to start somewhere and I needed a new hobby. Long story short, I ended up making the cut and it turned out pretty good. No chipped paint and the line was cut nicely. Went to install it back on and realized I cut the wrong side!! I couldn't believe it. Although, I did get a pretty good laugh out of it, I do sometimes wonder myself.

damn! That sucks. If you're going to be doing custom metal work, you're going to be doing some cussing, but I tell ya, there's nothing like homemade parts on a bike. I really like seeing people's reactions when they ask where I got something, and I tell them I built it. There's lots of resources on youtube and google for metal work if you need some help along the way.

That sucks. But you won't make that mistake again. I like to mock stuff up with painters tape ON the bike before I modify it off the bike. It helps a lot. You can write notes and draw arrows and stuff on the tape too.

Well, install it on the wrong side of the bike and it should work out.

No worries. Give it to somebody with an early FX. Just might fit!

Step learning curve.
Tough color to match.
Perhaps a color change to denim black rear and front fenders and side covers for a budget repair?
It seems you posted with a bit of a smile.
