Default just an idea

So over the past few days I've run to work and home with my PV hooked up. Looking at gauges of air intake temp; engine temp; head temp and the temps are pretty low. Nothing to be concerned about at all.

I did look for codes and 1 code was in history. It was neutral switch to ground. So I cleared it and will watch for it. I never checked the codes before so I can't really tell when it was tripped. I've only had my PV for about 2.5 months and I should read and cleared them once I did my first flashed MAP from FM.

Either way I'm still riding like I have with going to N when in a drift down hill traffic situation. Sort of like duck walking. Again this is not dead in the center of summer in 90+ degree F heat or worse.

I'll be watching and keeping an eye out.

THANKS for the inputs/reads too!

AND - as of now I've not seen this light back on - except at KEY ON before the start up as it always has while the system runs its checks.

@kguittar12 thanks...no its not consistent. Only seen this light one once since I've owned the bike. And by once I mean during a ride at any time. Yes it does come on at KEY ON as system boots up then it goes out. Usually its out before the yellow engine icon goes out during the system boot up. This is after the fuel pump cycles too. Been this way forever. I've been watching on the PV the voltages and they are normal and don't deviate at idle in traffic or during RPMS while riding either. THANK YOU!
I am Dan, I have an idea about several descriptions of this issue. I now assume this light serves several purposes. I have no idea where I got this info but here goes. I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe. It was pretty new tech having the closed loop fuel system. This system since it runs much leaner than older open loop systems causes idle mixture to be 14.7 to 1 and thus very lean and up to 150 degrees warmer than older models. I read that this system has a fail safe mode called a "parade mode" that one of the features is to increase idle speed to 1000 rpm to aid cooling. I hate to speak up as the dumb a$$ that does not understand the question or anything about anything but still throws his intellectually deprived two cents worth out there. I suspect this is what happens with the riders that know they are hot.
My issue is different in that I lost my speedometer when the red light came on.
