I'm looking to have a little winter time project with my 48. Anyone have an suggestions about a replacement seat? I like the retro look and may possibly do a wide tire kit...what the biggest tire I could go with on the 48? My first thought is not to go any bigger than a 200 rear.... Any suggestions??
I just got a Mustang wide touring seat and love it. The Sundowner it replaced is good too but did not fit me quite as well as and was slightly less comfortable than the Mustang seat.

We have a wide range of seats that are comfortable and some can easily be made one-off to your liking. I don't think you can do better. The video below just shows a few of the choices.
Regarding tire size, if you go larger than 200, it will get real expensive, real fast. But if you want to do it, my first place I would look at would be Led Sled.
I've ran a sundowner for going on 7 years now and i never get a sore rear end no matter how much i ride. It seems to get better with every riding year. The downsize is this is my first Harley and the only stock seat on a motorcycle i ever had to replace. The bucket motorcycle seat is probably the worst design of any motorcycle seat ever developed but if your willing to spend a huge amount of money you can find one that works for you.
