Need help with a diagnosis.
Hey all. I have a 2005 sportster 883 that has been acting up for a while now. When starting up (1st & 2nd gear) it pops and spotters and I cannot get up to speed. It is at its worst after reaching upper gears and speed. Then when I pause at a light or offramp I have the issue. Sometimes it continues and I have to li.p it home. Any help is appreciated. Opened the carb and it was clean, sprayed carb cleaner to check for air leaves with no change in idle.........no idea. Bike has less than 7k miles on it.

Crank position sensor? Really strange things happen when it goes bad. I spent hours fiddling with the carb on an '04. 30 bucks and 10 minutes later, a new crank position sensor cured the rough idle and loss of power. As far as I know, there's no way to check the sensor, other than replacing it with a known good unit.
