Welcome aboard. I got bitten by the Harley bug HARD when I went to Phoenix (Scottsdale, actually) and rented a 1200C while I was there during Bike WEEK.... Had a BALL on one, put 500 miles on it in 2.5 days. Best $200 I ever spent; a 3-day test drive.
I own a 1996 XL1200S now but that's only cuz it was what I could afford. Like you I'm 6' tall and 195, so I, too love how it looks and fits on me.
I am jealous of your year-round riding weather! Beautiful country!
