I pulled my baffles out today and found most of the packing gone! I look the rest of the crap out. Put the metal baffles back in.

I just saw on a website somewhere and I'll be damned if I can remember where now, but they had exhaust pipes that with a twist of the pipe would open the baffle and twist it back and it was closed again.

Are you thinking of these? They seem like a pretty good alternative, you want something loud for screaming around town but don't want to have to roll your bike down the block in the morning before starting it up to go to work. I like how you have en electronic version, simply push a button and all goes quiet, or you can get back there and give the end cap a quarter turn. They are pricey though, but better than getting tickets ll the time I guess - "What me officer? Don't you hear how quiet my bike is right now?" Maybe the push button is better for this.

Here is a youtube page with some before/after sounds on the adjustable exhausts and one showing how the electronic switching is actuated. Honestly, except on the Sportster clips, I do not hear much of a difference but then again youtube videos do not have the greatest sound quality.

Dallas I see this is from early Last Year deleted all my comments. I hope you are well. Your pipes rock as they are now. If performance is no issue I would leave well enough alone.

I just bought my bike last week. It has drag pipes and they where straight. Last night I installed Thunder Monster baffles. It mellowed out the sound and it is still plenty loud. It is hard for me to gage how much better the bike runs with the baffles but I feel better having them in. Personaly I see only 2 avantages to straight pipes. 1. a full race drag bike @ the strip and 2. If you want the raunchyest sound you can get and lots of flame and backfire.

Hello Daddycoolj. I have the Rush slipons too. I've posted a few questions about the high heat from them (new bike, haven't re-mapped the EFI) and am wondering if all is well with yours, and what's the norm. Thanks much, A.

I removed the baffles from my python 3 slip ons about a year ago. i love the sound. it lost a little bit of power but it still has plenty of it. I have raced some buddies who kept their baffles in and im neck and neck with them. They actually pull away at the high speeds and that is where i have actually noticed the lack of power, not at the low end like most are saying. I have a stage 1 Harley download also. Just checked the plugs last week and still look brand new.

Hey....I am a firm believer that baffles will give you alot of mid range power....I have tried all kinds of different setups, but in the end an engine needs a bit of backpressure, period..........really have two choices,,,you can be loud as hell or have a better running bike......so many folks are caught up w/ that loud thing...I rather have a runner,,,,,we used to buy those slip in steel baffs made for drags and start cutting them shorter 'til we had the best results....just my opinions....Rob

Big city thunder, thunder monster baffles. Put them in my V&H staggered duals...louder but not too loud. Deep tone..not raspy. Too pricey really but I love the sound and torquey feel..
