Hey all. Need some opinions. On Sunday afternoon while I was out riding I noticed a problem.
On my way home, I made a right hand turn, and noticed that my speedometer had stopped working. A bit further down the road, and almost home, I make a left bend in the road and the speedometer is working fine again. Been fine ever since. Any thoughts?
My speedometer did the same thing. It just stopped working 1 day out on a ride.It was the transmission speed sensor. The stealer put a new 1 in and no problems since.
As an Update... Had the bike into the the local dealership yesterday to have windshield, saddle bags and back rest installed, they checked for the speedometer problem and, of course, couldn't duplicate it. They ran tests and codes but no luck. So, I'm thinking a fluke. I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it happens again, I'll get it to them pronto.
Bad speedo sensor. Had it happen to me also-same symptoms. My stealer didn't have a new sensor in stock, but offered to take one out of a Sportster in the warehouse and make the change immediately. Make sure they have a sensor in stock so you don't miss a day of riding.
