I noticed today while riding my 2015 Road King that the speedometer needle would suddenly go to zero then immediately bounce back up to speed.
what would cause this to happen? Thanks
When it goes to zero, how long does it last? The speed sensor is an excellent possibility and easy to check, but if the turn signals continue to cancel normally, the speed sensor is not the problem and you have an intermittent connection between the turn signal sensor and the speedo or an intermittent problem in the speedo itself. Cable drive seems so much easier.

It falls to zero, and immediately goes back to speed.
i usually manually turn my signals off, so I dont know if the cancelling function is working.
Ill take it out later and see if the signals cancel on their own.
I went out a couple of hours and it didnt act up a bit. The signals cancelled out, and the speedometer needle never moved around.
I guess if it is something it will get worse over time.
Guess I should have specified, if the speedo drops to zero and stays there, the turn signal test would clarify if it is the speed sensor or wiring somewhere. If the turn signal cancels while the speedo is dead, the speed sensor is working. If the turn signal does not cancel while the speedo is dead, a part common to both has failed, and the speed sensor is a very good candidate.

Is your check engine light on?
My 02 C/E light came on and
I noticed the same thing.
Turns out is was the voltage regulator.
Yes, I read your bike is a 2015 and mine was an 02.
I did run a few checks to determine it was the VR that schatt the bed.
Something to think about.
Hey, check for tripped engine codes, that may be a quicker route even.
