Get a flashlight and a flat bladed screwdriver. Look down into the switch and align the slots. Might take a while but it works. Don't give up, keep at it. Here's a vid from rocknrod. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...uctions-2.html
Any way once my ignition is in the hole, nothing happens, I believe I have inadvertantly misaligned the tumblers, with this said does anybody know how to correct this problem. I think the tumblers may be 180 degrees off, but I'm not sure, please help.
I know this is easy, I've done this numerous time, however once I line up the tumblers and re-instal the ignition and turn the switch clockwise nothing happens...not sure what the problem is. Anyway, I can use a screwdriver turn the bottom tumbler and bam, my power is engaged and the bike runs like a champ. Confused, any advise would be great. Thanks

As you know, just because your ignition slides in, doesn't mean the tumblers are correctly aligned. Same thing happened to me cause I was too cheap to pay HD for their ignition tool. Take your screwdriver and rotate the lower tumblers only. Try left or right 180 deg. Don't spin them, just try each tumbler in a different position.
The "tumbers" should be aligned in the fork lock position. Also make sure the button on the bottom of the ignition switch is depressed. Should slide in and lock down.

Thanks everyone, after an hour or so I finally managed to correct this ignition problem. I didn't think I was going to have so many problems installing my new Ape Hangers, anyway the *** pain was worth it. Ride safe everyone.
When I lock my forks and return to unlock them the engine and all electrical system will not engage. I have to wiggle the key switch back and forth multiple times and it usually corrects itself. A Pain and a empty feeling when out on the road. Dealer replaced it once but the problem did not go away. Anyone else have this issue?
