howdy just thought i would make a post about the top speed for my dead stock 07 883c,
I went for a ride on the weekend with a group of big twins ( i was the only sporty in the group)
out on the open hwy, 180 kls ( 112 mph ) when the rev limiter kicked in 5th gear.
I think that is very impressive on flat staight road with very little wind.
PS all the big twin riders were scatching their heads looking at the sporty when we stopped at the pub for a beer,
cheers Bretho
yeah what the hell i have to shift into 5th gear at 65mph, ive never gotten it past 80mph im sure it could go faster i have a 883 to 1200 conversion. i dont think id ever want to get it up to 100mph but thats just me.
That's a damn fast 883, bretho! I saw a travelogue about one of your roads, the one that crosses the country, considered one of the longest straights in the world. Also considered one of the most deadly from people hypnotized by it. You weren't blasting down that thing, were you?

~115 in 5th - never done it but I'm guessing that's where it will top out
(highest I've been is right about 105)
That's with topping every gear out, not hitting limiter - laying on the tank.

You bike will top out at 110 mph because that is the gearing limitation for 883's at 6K rpm. So unless you raised the rev limit 110 is all that you get. The gearing limitation for 1200's is 126 mph at 6k rpm.
