If any of my bikes topped out at 90 it wouldn't bother me all that much.

Can't remember the last time I had the need to take one up to that speed or higher.

Wow, I can not imagine going 126mph on my 1200.
The wind blast seems like it would be unbearable.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with triple digit speeds on the right machine. When I had my Hayabusa, 120 mph was literally cruising. Very solid, smooth & stable. Very aerodynamic.

Hehe, I have had him up to around 175-180 range. Topendshould be around 200mph.At that speed, you really don't have extra time to set there and watch your speedo.

That is the reason I switched to cruisers. Why do you climb a mountain? Because it's there. Why doyou want to go 200? Becauseit can (I can).

Mine starts getting squirrely between 100 and 110, so I stay below that. If it weren't for that I'd top it out.

I can see a Busa going 3 figures. I think it's insane going the same on a Sportie.

My stock '07 883R will do:

35 in 1st
55 in 2nd
75 in 3rd
95 in 4th
~115 in 5th - never done it but I'm guessing that's where it will top out
(highest I've been is right about 105)

That's with topping every gear out, not hitting limiter - laying on the tank.

My '98 883 XL will go

15 in first
25 in second
35 in third
45 in fourth
60 to 80 in fifth on the highways

And that's with an old, fat, shaky guy riding it who usually doesn't feel like riding it any differently.

The speeds that some of these 'younger' riders go blows my mind... the new FI 883's must be faster than greasedsheeeeeet....

Sight seeing is great at that speed.

ORIGINAL: bretho

howdy just thought i would make a post about the top speed for my dead stock 07 883c,
I went for a ride on the weekend with a group of big twins ( i was the only sporty in the group)
out on the open hwy, 180 kls ( 112 mph ) when the rev limiter kicked in 5th gear.
I think that is very impressive on flat staight road with very little wind.

PS all the big twin riders were scatching their heads looking at the sporty when we stopped at the pub for a beer,
cheers Bretho

If you go over 100 mph with forward control, you will find your feet going nowhere lol.
I keep it between 75-85 mph, most comfortable ride.

When mine was still an 883 I had it up to 100 and it had just a little left in it. I'm not exactly skinny either.
