Does anybody sell a battery with double the cranking amps of a stock battery? Just put in stock replacement and it wouldn't start this morning. Even had it on the battery tender for 2 days. This is an 06 xlr 1200.
I got used to it having a starter that seems to drag, but it usually starts.
#1 use a HD battery or deka battery
#2 check your battery cables. Make sure they are tight and the ground is clean on the engine. Make sure you google voltage drop and test the POS cable is common for those to break and have a no crank no start.
I have the Antigravity 480CCA 16 cell Lithium....starts right up without hesitation that my stock battery had. Smaller and lighter. There is a 600CCA but I think that's overkill for a sporty. Here is the link. http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Batteries_c91.htm

Unless your Sporty is highly tuned you don't need a more powerful battery - you have a problem associated with your starting circuit, by the sounds of it! Once that is sorted your current battery will probably be fine.
