OK, you folks are always talking about how bad the vibration is on pre o4 sportsters.
Well we expect vibration ,and just put up with it .
So , we don't do the basic's ,like checking the motormounts ,and other fasteners.
I went over my 91 yesterday, just put a antique tag on it and will use it on patriot guard runs.
tightened every thing, half the shake went away....
My forehead is getting flatter every day
You guys don't know what vibration is until you ride a mid 90's Moto Guzzi.
Shock Wave Lithotripsy for kidney stones has nothing on a Goose.
Damn thing could shake large kidney stones free, and a used Guzzi was cheaper then the cost of Lithotripsy treatment.
Used to ride a 1990 California III and I didn't find it that bad.
Had a 1995 California Special with a taller final drive. Mirrors vibrated so bad I could never tell if it was a cop behind until the sirens came on.
And I'm dead serious about it shaking large kidney stones loose.
One big plus for the Gooses excessive vibrations........women loved it.
Guzzis shouldn't vibrate, they're 90 degree V-twins! It's too long since I last rode one to have a clear recall. As for the rigid Sporties, having owned Harleys since the '70s I've test ridden them at intervals over the decades, with the view to buy one, but never been able to convince myself to buy one - until the rubber mounts came along. Horses for courses!
