I was riding my 09 FXDB last week on the interstate when I hit a bump hard enough to make me think I'd broke a tooth. Everything seemed OK. 3 hours and 200 miles later it was like I was suddenly riding on a gravel road. My feet were shaking so bad I thought they'd go to sleep. I took the bike to the dealer and after screwing around for 4 days they looked at it and said I had a broken front motor mount. They replaced it, but as soon as I took off I knew it was still not fixed. Lot's of vibration at low gears/high RPMs. Vibration less at higher speeds/lower RPMs. Goes away completely when I engage the clutch. I called the dealer when I got home. He called HD and was told that they'd get him the Dyna "Vibration Package". Not sure what's in it, but like my dealer said, if they have a "package" for it then this is not an isolated problem. Anybody else have new vibration problems with a late-model Dyna?
First of all a vibration package to me sounds like bullsh!t. I've never heard of such an upgrade. Dynas have rubber motor mounts, so imo, something else would **** the bed from heavy turbulance long before a mount. It's possible, but I'd take it to an indy who cares more about your repeat business than your wallet and let them check it out.
mine has the same exact problem
i went to the dealer and they put a new front motor mount on but still not fixed, better but still vibration.
if you find out let me know how to fix it. ill do the same have been eorking on it but can seem to figure it out
Mine was vibrating oddly at stops (or at least that was the only time I could feel it) and I checked the front motor mount, the bolts had come a little loose. Tightened them back up and no more vibration.
Not yet, but two days ago I hit a bump at HWY speeds on 264 in Va Beach that seperated me from the bike for about ten feet. Scared the S@#T out of me. I'm fine, I believe the bike is fine (for now). But, with this thread I'll be going through the bike when I get home.
I know a indie mechanic (and he's good) that is having vib problems on his 2010 Fat Bob. Been to dealer with it. They did adjustments. No good. He added a front pipe mount to engine like the one on my SBob. He did something else, but I don't remember what. He even added the rear compensator pulley that is for touring bikes (same number of teeth as Dyna). That required machine work that he did himself. Vibs are less but still too much. I recommended that he check the front engine rubber mount gap that has often been mentioned on the forum. That was yesterday. I will keep tabs on his progress and watch this thread.
