burning oil
could my rings be going. noticed my oil level kept dropping no oil drip underneath, then noticed my exhaust was blue and occasionally black. could this be oil in my gas... which could mean my rings are going?

if it has blue smoke when you are hard on the throttle that is normally rings, if it smokes when you roll off the throttle that is normally bad valve guides and or guide seals.
If you see lot of oil in your air cleaner then that is an indication of worn out breather umbrella valves
