I've suffered form bird strike twice recently, taken both on the top of my open face helmet as I ducked. The first was a pigeon at 80mph, the second was a pheasant at about 50. Both smashed by goggles down onto the bridge of nose & broke the skin. Birds feel bloody solid at those speeds! WhenI hit the pheasant my wife was sitting behind me & she reckons she suddenly saw a pair of wings appear either side of my helmet! [sm=yikesomg.gif][/align]
OK First I just have to say wow what 2 completely seperate posts, but I did laugh.
Anyway that has never happened to me, but my brother was riding last summer with his full face on (rides a Ninja 636) and the visor half open and a bird just dive bombed his *** and when under his visor flipped it up and got caught in it when it opened the visor the rest of the way.Luckily it didnt hit his face, but it did scare the living $hit out of him.
lol....I realize my ques. are completely seperate but I figured I'd ( pardon the pun ) kill two birds with one post.
really interesting to hearthe variety ofbirds people have hit...I'm sure it must hurt....and dangerous.
now the kill-switch,
if it's hit by accident, I assume you just turn it on again and hit the 'start' button..?

Just flip the switch to on again and away you go , no need for the starter as the engine will still be turning over as long as you don't pull the clutch lever in, get ready for a tremendous backfire though if you have a carb'd bike.
