Get some Pirelli Night Dragons, such a better tire than the D401. I got both for $200 delivered after $40 rebate. So much better ride and cornering, like night and day IMO.

I believe that recommendation is due to the weight of "full size" Harley's. Check the load rating and I bet they are just fine on a Sportster.
