Hey DangerBabe, you chose wisely, IMO ! The 79 was not a H-D, it was an AMF thingy ! No Demand, NO Value ! One of my Harley's is a 1986 1st year Evo Sportster, that I have had for 19 summers ! I bought it from a 44 year H-D Certified Master Tech, in early 1998, he punched it out to 1200, with the 4 speed trans & rear chain drive, when I hit 2nd gear it comes off the ground a couple inches, & keeps on going ! It has 1998 tin on it, with a 883 tank, it's a Wolf in Sheep's clothing, I love it, you will too ! Beware, Be Smart, Be Safe, BJ

1991 883. The old Iron Heads are for those who really love working on their bikes. I am not one of those people. I want to ride not work to fix things.

Can't go wrong with an EVO sportster. parts availability is near endless, and they are very reliable. good choice, the '79 would probably require alot more tinkering and parts sourcing will only be getting worse. Enjoy it! Photos?
