Default Just got the Vance and Hines fp3

Just got the Vance and hines FP3 for my 17 sporty Iron. Where should I and how should I mount it to the bike so I can do the auto tune feature. also for now I just did one of the maps that were on there by selecting my pipes motor ect.

Can't help you with the mounting, but a buddy just bought the FP3 for his Sportster, and he loves it. Have fun!

I mounted my PCV to the battery as well , I used heavy duty Velcro from Joann fabrics, the stuff it amazing. just get like 2 feet and have enough Velcro for the rest of your life.

Been trying to decide which tuner to get for the Roadster. I've been looking for reviews and found only a couple on here stating the FP3 is a great product. I had a ThunderMax before and wasn't ever really impressed with it. How has the FP3 been treating you so far? I know u just got it but just wondered how you like it and if you have had the chance to mess with it much? How is the initial tune running?

I just want to get the most for my money and it seems that the FP3 keeps it simple yet has many features of the more expensive tuners and replacement ECM's without having to switch to wide band sensors. Don't mean to hijack your thread just want more info on it from someone who has personal experience with the FP3 before I fork over 400 bucks for one.

Behind the left side cover, like Benson pictured is a good spot.

This is a good LINK with an overview of popular tuners... pros and cons of each. The FP3 is in there.

I have used the FP3 and am really impressed with it. Ease of use and results have been great. Initial tune was good, and auto-tune is super easy to use and produces good results.

I still prefer the Power Vision for the extra functionality it has over the FP3.

But, for a Stage I, that extra functionality is not needed for a daily rider...I just like it.

It was really simple to do the initial tune. I noticed right away the slight hesitation I had is gone and it feels peppier. Soon as I mount it and put it on auto tune I will fill you in more. But features are easy and straight forward very easy to do the swap. Download the program to your smart phone and it has a demo mode to see how to operate the fp3 I downloaded it 1 month before I bought the fp3 to see how things are going to work. It has all kinds of preloaded maps that allow you to pick what pipes you have intake and other things. It has a tune for a 1200 conversion if I ever did that. seems like it has a lot of great features.

i think the the only way you get the most out of your bike is a custom tune map.. a dyno run, and or a map then running a quality auto tune. i think The FP3 is for stage one and will be really good simple peace of mind. pf3 does not support bigbore or cams. It but for a little under 430(new on ebay) you can get a power vision. which is better. you can get a dyno tuned map with it. or run auto tunes like a pf3 but dynojet have been in the tune game since day one that is a big different.

How long does it take for the auto tune to learn? I just turned it on and once it maps enough I will apply but how many miles do you think it will take to have enough to apply a map?
