hey everyone did a long ride today with m missus
found that the stock seat on the xl1200c sporster isnt the best for long rides,
any ideas of what comft seats are out there for both rider and pillion?
also would changing the shocks help with the bumpyiness
cheers
Well check out Le Pera. Just replaced my Sportsers 2 up seat and found that the solo was a lot more comfortable than the stock seat....less vibes and definitely better pad, if the solo seat is much better I would bet so would their 2 up seats
A few posts recently about changing over rear shox to Road King air shox with 5 lbs of pressure instead of paying a fortune for after market and being disappointed
Dave 04 Sportster 1200C
I replaced the stock seat on my 2014 XL1200cp with a Sundowner 2-up seat.
It was better . . . but still not what I wanted. So I pulled the vinyl cover back from the front half of the seat and removed a bunch of foam from the centerline [front to back] of the seat [for jewel comfort] and also from the rear of the 'bucket' portion to allow me to sit back further.
After this first modification the long-distance ride was much improved. But it still wasn't enough so the cover was peeled back once again and more foam was removed.
When the vinyl was pulled back over the seat's 'frame' and re-stapled, the mods are undetectable.
I've finally achieved a seat that I can sit on comfortably for extended periods.

Are you on a budget? Makes a difference in your options...not on a budget, look at Ohlin shocks $1000+......on a budget, look at takeoff touring air/oil shocks $120.
Many options out there and many opinions on here....it is a personal choice...do your due diligence.
Good luck and have fun with it. Welcome to the forum.

I would say ANY seat but lepera.
The worst seat I have ever had the displeasure of sitting on.
I would compare it to sitting on a vinyl covered brick.
