I charged the battery for a 10 minutes and it says fully charged. I pull off the charger and it immediately went to 12.65. after a few minutes it is holding at 12.45. I have cheap "Battery Tender"
I have a 92 Honda Shadow VT1100. When working on it over the summer I killed the battery over and over trying to start it. I eventually would jump start it and when that failed I pulled the battery, plugged it in and it always recharged. I did it several times before I fixed the mechanical problem. Now it starts fine and battery is good.
This one is new and it seems to have died for no reason.
Seems like there are a lot of dud batteries being manufactured and shipped out to consumers these days. Find a store that sells it and trade it in under warranty if you can.

My bike was starting just like you describe yours. I asked everybody on this board and was told it was normal. Then in July, it just didn't start any more. That's after having it on a battery tender over night.
I went to batterystuff.com and bought a scorpion battery that fit my bike for under $100. Bike starts with no problems now.
Since you are taking it out, charge it and take it to a shop that will test it for free. Most of the big auto parts stores have free testing and shops that specia;ize in batteries only or starters alternators, give one a call and ask.
