Help! Spark plug wire resistance numbers, bad ignition module?!
98xl1200c 60k
I'd like to check the plugs wires to make sure that they are good. I have 2 year old SE wires. Bike is a daily rider. Starts fine stone cold, but heated it won't restart backfires crazy with added throttle making it miss and backfire. Changed the coil, plugs. Same same. Ran it then quick cooled the ignition module with a bag of ice on the nose cone, started right up. But I wanna test the ohms resistance on the plug wires themselves.
Disconnected what should be the resistance numbers??
years ago I spend $$ for nothing only to have a problem with the wires.
Or or is it for sure the module which is $200+
going through chemo so help a brotha out

Common problem on older EVOs with the nose cone ignition modules and it's not only telling you it's failing, you've proved it. Regardless of other tests you want to do, it's time to replace the ignition module.
Per the '98 Sportster manual: 1,625-3,796 ohms for 6-1/2-in. cable, 5,000-11,680 ohms for 20-in. cable.
I don't know if the SE cables should have different resistance values.
