Default corbin or brawler seat?

guys,

the seat on my nightster is awful. i need an upgrade. i have narrowed it to the corbin hollywood solo, or the harley brawler. which one should i get? i don't like the looks of the mustang, so they are out.

Well, I think the Corbin hollywood looks beautiful, if you are willing to pay a bit more, go for it! I have no problem with the Brawler either, still a good looking seat for that price tag.

I can only tell you what I own, know what I mean? I can't tell you how comfortable the Corbin seat is but they have been making great seat for a while. I like the factory 2 up seat(my weight 165) but many people think the stock 2 up is hard as rock. Apples and oranges?

I've got a corbin solo classic... I've had it about a year now...

The jury is still out on it... but it is way better than the stock seat...

It tends to push me forward a tad, which is not good since I am 6'3" in the first place... lol

The problem with finding the right seat is that not every body (****) is the same... So what might be right for one may not be right for another...

You would think that Harley would consider doing a little more research on the seat problem as way more often that not it's the number one complaint on a new bike...

But then again, I guess it would cut into their after market seat sales...

Have you thought about padding your stock seat? I know one person here did and loves it. Said that it's actually pretty easy to DIY.

Apparently their aftermarket seat sales are so good, they can't even keep up with production. (see my recent post) I gotta laugh, Harley claims the Nightster has the lowest seat height, blah, blah, blah. All they did was take the damn foam out of the seats. Sure, sitting on the frame rails, the seat height is going to be low. Also, I modded by stock seat with Tempur Pedic foam, and although it is better, it is still not great. The only option is to replace the stock seat, and that is just what Harley wanted! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have the Brawler and I love it excpet for the mounting system. It has a tongue in the front and an oval bracket in the back with no under seat keyhole. For the first couple days I had it the damn thing kept coming loose while I was riding because the seat wants to move forward and back with you, so I was constantly reaching back and tightening it down at red lights.

Fixes I've found fo this is to either make a small insert so the bracket cant move, use a better bolt that you can tighten down with tools (one that comes with it is a thumb-screw), or just try some LockTite Blue. I used the LockTite Blue method and I havent had to re-tighten it yet after two days of off and on riding.

Other than that I really like the seat, 100% more comfortable versus the stock seat, and it looks badas,s while staying with the "genuine" HD parts.

Love my corbin hollywood solo and I even had it shaved down as much as possible to lower me more. I love that with the corbins you can custom order your seat in a number of different leather textures and colors or even do the seat in one and the sides in something different still. You can really make your bike an outstanding individual creation.
