I am a longtime Harley rider. Most of my time has been on touring bikes. I regularly check my tire pressure and follow mfr recommendations on pressure.
In touring bikes with stock dunlops I got the following mileage:
07 and below. 20 K for a front, 10 K for a rear
09 and up. 25 K for front, 18 k for rear
I bought a new 2016 1200C with stock Michelin tires in Oct 2016
I have almost 7K on it so far, and I am astonished at finding my front tire at 4/32, and my rear at 7/32. Just the opposite of what my experience has been on other models.
Is this normal on sportsters
The Dunlop American Elite Sportster Xl1200C tires start with 6/32 tread on the front and 10/32 on the rear.
Your front has probably only worn about 2/32 and the rear about 3/32.
I didn't find the Michelin tread specs I seem to remember the Commander IIs were about the same.
