I am a longtime Harley rider. Most of my time has been on touring bikes. I regularly check my tire pressure and follow mfr recommendations on pressure.
In touring bikes with stock dunlops I got the following mileage:
07 and below. 20 K for a front, 10 K for a rear
09 and up. 25 K for front, 18 k for rear
I bought a new 2016 1200C with stock Michelin tires in Oct 2016
I have almost 7K on it so far, and I am astonished at finding my front tire at 4/32, and my rear at 7/32. Just the opposite of what my experience has been on other models.

Is this normal on sportsters
My 2014 Custom the rear was worn by 7000 and the front was mid life
As others have mentioned, you are experiencing fairly normal wear for Sportster tires. I have an 07 1200C and I have a Michelin Commander II up front and it's about half way through its life at ~6k mi. I have the stock rear Dunlop on and it's around 12k mi and I'm replacing it this week.
I must have said it wrong. My front tire is 1/32 away from me replacing it (I replace my tires at 3/32 remaining). But my rear is not quite 1/2 way through its life. This is backwards of what I have experienced. Normally I go through two rear tires for every front

Your front tire excessive wear issue is normal and due to the skinny front tire.
I got 8-9K miles out of my first 2 21" front tires. When the second tire wore out, I replaced the 21" wheel with a 19" as is standard on the non C model Sporties. Over 100,000 miles now on the Sporty and I routinely get 22-24K miles on a front tire.

I do not have the skinny front tire. I have a 2016 XL1200 Custom.
