I was in a accident on Sunday 6/3 it was pretty bad had to be air lifted to hospital have no memory of accident, I have a fractured pelvis and scapula and alot of servere brusing on my legs and bottom and 5 stiches in my left elbow. There was a good size impact mark on the forehead of my helmet they say I would have died without it. I am lucky that my injuries will all heal with time. My sporty is another story it is totaled front end is torn up bent front downtube on frame alot of scratches torn seat etc.. I guess once I heal and the insurace is paid out I will be looking for a new one.
You said you have no memory of the accident, but do you know what happened? Glad you weren't seriously injured, all that will heal. I still have neck pain from a crash in '91...but I landed on my head and busted my helmet...
Sorry to hear about this. I am very glad you are ok. Motorcycling is fun, but if I had a accident and got hurt I think I might be done. Do you think you ran into something because it sounds like the front took the damage. Get better soon!
The State police say there was a car turning left into a driveway and another car behind it I hit the secound car what no one seems to know or will admit is how quickly the second car stopped. They say ther was 10' of tire skid marks from my bike on the road. I had just put a new wind shield on which I got on Friday a Memphis Fats solar tint. It was getting dark out from a approaching storm and even though the skies wew dark I had to leave my sunglasses on because of the bugs. I don't know if the combination of the sunglasses and the tinted windshield impaired my vision? I don't remember any thing from a few minutes before the accident until I was in the helicopter with my clothes cut off. I some how did not see what I needed to or made a judgement error, I am 44 years old and drive between 40,000-50,000 miles a year between work and personal vehicles and had not had a accident since I was 19. I have been working alot of hours at work and was kinda tired and only planned on going on a short test ride with the new windshield to make sure I had it adjusted right. I got the windshield on the recommendation of my friends, who I was going to be riding upto Americade this week with. They say it would help with fatique on long rides, I think I should have gotten the clear instead of the solar color.
You are very lucky to walk away with just some minor injuries. I wish you well in your recovery. As much as I hate reading or listening about accidents in some wayI feel I learn some more things about being a more alert driver. Once again I wish you a speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear about your accident. I agree with MJK - this stuff takes time and there's no need to push it. I'm glad you were wearing a helmet - sounds like it saved your life, which they frequently do. I also agree with your assessment on the shield - it should be clear...
