i met a guy today at the dealer that just bought an 07 1200c..he only has a learners permit and needs a licensed rider with him at all times..i rode with him so he could get the bike home..and we got to talking and im gonna ride with him some more till he gets his license..so heres the question---he was quoted 1,200 bucks for v&h slip-ons,se hi flow, and race tuner or download..i think that price is totally insane and told him i would find the cheepest way to do it..im figuring on getting him the v&h short shots(i seen them on ebay for about 279 bucks for the 07 models) screamin eagle hi flow kit around 130 bucks..but im stuck on what to do for the fuel injection..the goal is to avoid the dealer at all cost..what is the best way to go with this? a screamin eagle race tuner or v&h feul pack? i told him i would do all the work for him at no cost(because im just a nice guy)..any help would be appreciated...
Hey Bill. If I could find the stage 1 download I would be in heaven. Here'sw the best bang for the buck. Use your current a/c. The drags for my bike were 129 bucks. Big City Thunder baffles are 79 bucks. If I could find a good price on a tune locally, I'd be set. The S/E intake is a ripoff.
I put the slip-ons on my bike in less than an hour, I can't believe it would take 20 min to put the AC kit on. So lets say a total of 2 hour to be on the safe side. My dealer charges 55 an hour, that $110.00 for the ac kit and slip-ons.
So $360 and $110 is $470.00, so there getting $730 bones to remap it???
I would do the ac kit and the mufflers myself then take it to the dealer for race tuner, anything you can do yourself, I would do.
ok heres what i was told from the guy(and hes not very knowledgable so they might be trying to tak advantage of him) vance and hines slip ons,se air cleaner, and im not too sure what they offered as far as the fuel injection..either it was a download or se race tuner..but it sure sounds high to me..now this is what i just found on ebay--v&h short shots $265+shipping,,v&h fuel pack $218..we can get the air cleane from the dealer for 140 bucks..so we are talkin around $600 for all of it...the fuel pack says no pc needed it has built in settings..does anyone have any experience with the feul pack? i am gonna do all the work for this guy...so the parts is all he pays for..
