Removed timing cover ect and the bolts that hold down everything haven't been touched. I can see the marks that the bolts have made, so it hasn't been touched and it doesn't appear to have been. the previous owner has no mechanical abillty ,this I know, He sent the bike out for cosmetic only add on's. Ordered plugs and will try that first since its the cheapest on a fixed income. One reason I had it jetted up but didn't help.

here is the plug you need.. https://www.autozone.com/external-en...archText=ra6hc ... if you want to mess with the timing, it is not rocket science...just remove the points aka. timing cover, inside there is another metal plate with 4 screws in it (remove it) behind that there is the timing controller, it has 2 screws holding it in place ..first use a sharpie and mark the edge of the plate to where it contacts the housing of the motor, loosen the 2 screws and turn the timing controller about 2-3 degrees (approx. 1/16") clockwise , tighten the screws and go for a ride...if things are better than put the other covers back on..if it is better but not perfect move it a little more and try again, if it doesn't help, put it back to where the original marks were, if it is worse try turning it the other way.....there is a groove cut into the edge of the spark controller to make it easier to turn with a screw driver...the only issue I would look out for is that the screws can be really tight, so make sure you have a screw driver that fits perfect and then give the driver a little tap or 2 with a hammer to seat it in the screw head real good so you don't strip out the screw..a drop of CRC on the screw prolly wouldn't hurt either...I know the book says to set it to the timing mark on the crank, but that is for the factory setting, you don't want that setting, that setting is for cleanest emissions (which means minor pinging/less power), you want to set it for slightly more power/less pinging....but first I would just put in colder plugs...
