Battery Fuse Failure
Went to start ol' girl up this morning and had no luck; neutral light and oil lamp came on, as well as lights, and horn, but no engine light, odometer, or speedometer illuminating/working. I quickly replaced the bad fuse (battery fuse) and she started right up; growling like a succulent saint straight from hell with no issues. Well, halfway down the road, my speedo went out as well as odometer. But I figured, "eh, oh well, just going on a Sunday ride, I'll worry about it later." So, took her to Maverik (the best gas station this side of the Mississippi River) to gas up before my several hour ride, and when I finished feeding my voluptuous vixen her meal, no start- again. Checked the fuse box - again, the battery fuse was spent. So I went into mechanic mode and traced the wires finding no evident cracks, breaks, or bad ground. Being a new Harley owner, not sure which step to take next. Also noteworthy, my right turn signal button likes to stick and is a sumnabitch to release to be able to utilize successfully. Could a faulty turn signal switch mess with blown fuses and cause my sweet, pin-up model of a sportster to not start and blow fuse after fuse? Again, I'm very new to Harley's and not sure where things are physically, so you may have to dumb it down for me.
