Hi Guys,
First of all just like to say thanks for all the great information this forum has to offer. I would like some "expert" opinons on what size rise to go with on these handle bars, they are the Roland Sands Vintage Short Stacks and they come with a 7.7" rise or 12" rise. You can view them on the FATBOOK website, just type in Roland Sands and lok under vintage short stack handle bars and you will see them. I am looking to go with the chrome bars, but just can't decide on what rise to go with. They will be going on the bike attached. Thanks for any input.

I have those same bars and they will be going on permanately this weekend...I hope. The 7.7 rise is a little misleading (especially if you are looking from the same book I ordered them from). After I put them on, I realized that the shape actuallly puts your hands in the same spot as my stock handle bars, just with a slight twist. If you are looking to bring your hands closer to shoulder level I would suggest the 12" rise.
I ride to and from work everyday rain or shine and usually put at least another 150 on the weekend. Stock bars are killing my wrist with the way I ride. Hopefully I can let you know by next monday how they feel as I plan on going through the Catskills of NY on Sunday.
I went with the 7 and kind of regret that I didn't get the 12. The 7 looks good on the bike but I think the 12 would look better and be more comfortable.
I think the Roland Sands web site does have one of their bikes featured on their main page with the 12 inch in black. Looks really good. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Next chunk of change I have to spend, I may just replace the 7 for the 12.
I wil have to purchase new wires so I can stuff them all inside, and maybe relocate the turn signals. Before I do that however, I will be getting a good test run in today and I will decide if I want to keep them on there.
Anyway, here they are...
Looks really good Squee, thanks for the pics, I saw an ad last week for Carlini bars in American Iron, called them up and I think I am going with the Carlini 12 inch chrome "Chino Apes". They have the squared look of the short stacks, but are a little taller and more pulled back than the Short Stacks. Your bike looks great man, Safe Riding and thanks for the pics.
