I added 4' risers to my 09 sportster as I'm added the controls back on it seems that I don't have anymore slack as I use to. Question is am I supposed to have slack or was it just that I had to much to begin with. And if I need slack what would be the cons on having little to no slack for the brake clutch and throttle cables.
You've got less slack now because the cables need to go an extra 4" to reach the new position of the controls.
Little to no slack will cause extra stress on the cables. You should be able to move the bars from lock to lock freely. Mine are the same way...I'm maxed out between risers and bar height to where a half inch more I wouldn't be able to turn from lock to lock.
If it's an issue and you're not clearing or you start to break cables, you need longer cables.

but if I am able to turn it shouldn't be a problem
