Whatever length you need to give you enough slack based on where your controls are...it's different for each set up. If you want to go longer, go a few inches longer than what you have now if you don't have enough slack. You can also use string to measure out how much longer you'll need to go if you're planning on going higher.

Crashed bikes because the tight cables will restrict your steering and also because over stressed cables can break.

It's why I asked you earlier if you can turn the bars from lock to lock with your current arrangement.

with the risers and the z bar it's 12" total meaning I should buy a kit for 12"? And yeah when I turn far right the brake line is on the tire.

I would call or message whoever you're buying from and ask what the length of the cables is then measure where you need yours to be and go from there.

Don't assume or you'll get something that is still not long enough or too long which also will not work.

We make Handlebar Riser Extensions. The longest we make is 3" because most HD's can go that much higher without needing wire, cable or line extensions.

Going over 3", most will need some extensions.

You could try routing the cables outside of the forks, might give you enough slack.
