Got an opportunity to buy a brand new joker machine air cleaner at a steal of a price locally, only downside is its in the CHROME finned finish.
I ride a 2017 iron 883 in denim red.
Anyone out there have any photos of any chrome air cleaner on an iron 883 (any finish, doesn't have to be denim red) just so I get an idea of what it may look like and decide if I want to go ahead and purchase or not.
Thanks in advance
You could always either powder coat it, as others have said, or you could spray it with plastidip in your bike's color (which you can always peel back off if you don't like it), or you could just plastidip it in black (which might look pretty good against the denim red).
More importantly which model of Joker Machine air cleaner as some of their models route the blowby vents back into the engine, I would not buy any air cleaner that does not vent blowby externally no matter how good the price is.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I ended up buying the air filter, attached a screenshot of the filter on revzilla.
I'm thinking I might like the touch of chrome considering the filter is so tiny.
I guess theres only one way to find out, figured if I don't like the look or performance, I could always sell it considering I got it for such a low price.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Nothing wrong with the performance of the joker air cleaner. The folks were just trying to impart the value of vented air cleaners. Not a big problem to vent the one you bought when you are ready.
Hard to find the dk info links on blowby and venting but, on of them will appear at some point to explain. Here is a link to their selection of breather goods: http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/91-u...in-evo-c75.htm
You can also completely DIY it. When you are ready. No biggie.

Hi Anthony,
As others have mentioned, that is an excellent system... The only downside being that it doesn't vent the blow by externally.
HERE You will find a bit of info on the benefits of venting externally not only for a performance boost, but for engine longevity as well.
We have several EBS (external breather systems) available. Some require modification to the Joker Machine components and some may bolt directly to the Joker Machine system. Our "DIY" or Do-It-Yourself EBS would most definitely adapt to that system by drilling and tapping into the support arm spacers of the JM back plate. The DIY EBS can be found HERE
I will need some measurements of the JM breather bolts and the backplate support spacers to suggest a bolt on kit that would subsequently replace said spacers and bolts with chrome banjo fittings and hoses. Feel free to PM here, call, or email with those specs and we will get right back to you.
Additionally, if you can tell me the outside diameter of that Joker Machine cover... we may have a replacement in a finned or smooth variation as well as being available in a chrome or powder coat black finish.
