I see wire mentioned and I carry some thin stainless and a piece of coated clothes hanger about 6" long. I carry electrical tape and duct tape by wrapping it around a tool. Also a pencil type magnet.
This is a tool list that I found somewhere on this site:
Harley tool Kit
Includes:
3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 10mm combination wrenches
8" adjustable wrench
Locking pliers
5/8" (16mm) spark plug socket
1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 5/16" hex keys
T25, T27, T40 Torx keys
6-in-1 screwdriver with bits
Mini ratchet
3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 10mm socket set
2" ratchet extension
Spark plug gap gauge
Electrical tape
Mechanics wire
Blue Threadlocker
Tire pressure gauge
Zip ties
Roll-up polyester 3.5" x 9.5" case
Ray
That's an excellent list. Note not a complete set of anything, just those tools that have a known use on your own bike. It would be easy to try to cover all eventualities and end up with a monstrously heavy heap of tools and less luggage space!
I carry a small roll of insulated wire and wire nuts along with many of the things already mentioned. the wire has been used more to secure things on my buddy's bikes than it has for repairs on my bike.
I take a couple extra bungees to secure luggage that has gained weight on the trip or extra do dads that you pick up along the way. wound up coming in real handy on the way back from the rocky point rally, strapped some extra goodies to the top of my forks/ headlight
I am VERY happy with my State Farm insurance, their Emergency Service, Towing and overall service including my local services. Awesome service since I retired from the Navy! I can only hope it remains so awesome when I am riding and need their services.
