Just bought an 883 sportster. Looking to upgrade the handle bars to mini apes or tall boys. something that has me sitting up a bit more. anyone have any options that doesn't require replacing my cables y
et? would the mini apes be to tall for factory cables?
I don’t think you are going to get away with it. I put mini apes on my xl and had to do clutch and brake line. Turn signals worked but snug. When I replaced turn signals I splice linger wires just make it go smoother. The others wires for switches seemed plenty long
Well, just bought the bike. Less work and money really... Which is funny because I bought a harley. 😂. Just trying to keep it simple at the moment.
Fair enough!
Still, taller bars are gonna require longer cables. You could look into changing from mids to forward controls to change up the riding position a bit.

yep. plan on that. looking into mid forwards or forwards. figure those with the mini apes would be a great combo... just curious as to how far i could stretch the stock cables I guess.
Nice bike OP! How difficult is it to change controls from mid->front or front->mid? Its not clear to me where you would remount them.
If you go to the H-D website and look in the Shop tab, you can see their forwards kit and also the fitting instructions. Really useful info, even if you don't buy a H-D kit!
